This is the Roku 2 XD streaming media player. It connects to a variety of online video providers, including Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu. Its data connection is over Wi-Fi, while it sends video and audio over HDMI.

The screws that hold the two case halves together can be accessed by pealing off the rubber pad on the bottom of the Roku. The adhesive should be sticky enough to reapply it later.

The case half bearing the screws can be lifted off without removing the screws from their recessions.
The Roku designers were clever enough to design the port passthrough as a separate part. This allows them to re-use the same case mold, and they just have to design a new mold for the back plate if they change the complement of ports on the PCB.
Interestingly, this board sports a placement for an ethernet port. This may be the same board they sell for the hardwired version, just without that part. It also has an unpopulated footprint near the center of the PCB--possibly for an Ethernet controller chip?
